We don't store any personally identifiable information so there is nothing to lose. We can't accidently reveal what we don't have unlike the ad targeting systems of other major Internet companies which retain identifiable personal data for over 12 months before it is even anonymised.

Why do you need equipment inside the isp ? why is it that so far the people who have carried out privacy assesments arnt exactly reputable companies ? why bother offering anti phishing when so many web browsers already do this ? which forums are on your list for today ? oh and do you buy many CD's from amazon ? i can send you targeted ads on this if you like ? yes i know who you are :| it doesnt take a genius for someone to use google to track people so i can only imagine how easy it would be for someone using phorm to track individuals. Thats another thing you keep harping on about the free download tool etc. I seem to remember 121media doing a similar thing. Nasty piece of work it was too. Phorm does realise the UK privacy laws are tougher than US privacy laws for a reason right ? People have moved past the "no storing of personal information" on to the fact you *scan it all in the first place even if they opt-out!*. Get that part right and people might be willing to listen to you.

There can not be any improvement in any Phorm, I would start looking deep in the mirror and ask yourself, 'How will they pay me if they loose all thier capital?' Jtech

And that it will in no way reduce one iota of that information. So tell me, how will adding your sandgrains to the pile improve anything? All it does is to add many more points of failure and potential leakage. (And no, I don't like a lot of the other collection techniques out there, either. But at least they are not trying to crawl under the duvet with me at night so they can even bottle my botty burps). Big Brother: a programme people watch, or a program watching people?

Nothing to lose ? Go tell that to Mrs Thelma Arnold of Gwinnett County Georgia. http://www.securityfocus.com/brief/277 [ Edited Wed Mar 19 2008, 05:20PM ]

In case you didn't catch this elsewhere : I don't care if Phorm's CEO gives me his first born son to hold in escrow as a guarantee of his promises. I don't care if my ISP offers a water tight privacy contract signed in the blood of their customer service department who are consistently ignoring my complaints. I don't care if they get the resurrected spirit of Jesus Christ to audit the source code. I don't care if the God of the Old Testament manifests and writes "Hey guys, Phorm is OK by me" in letters of fire upon the sky. I will not tolerate my ISP intercepting my communications in order to treat me as a chattel. Period. I do not want Kent Spunkbubble and his merry band of cold warriors and root kit artists installing equipment anywhere in the UK telecomms network, for any purpose, ever. Period. In other words, F*ck off, you shady b**tards. It's illegal, it's immoral and since it clearly involves you lot sat behind your desks 24/7 crawling the web with your mouse hand poised above the 'paste' button, I sincerely hope it is making you fat.
