The sharp-eyed may have noticed that BadPhorm was down for a couple of hours tonight. This was necessary while I investigated an attempt to breach the security of BadPhorm.

A person (who's IP address is known) uploaded a malicious file to the server on August 12th. Attempts to access the file from both this IP address and from a second IP address continued during the 12th and 13th of August.

A routine security scan identified the malicious file today and I took BadPhorm down to investigate the issue fully. Having completed this and after removing the offending file BadPhorm has been returned to normal operation.

To the best of my knowledge, site security was NOT breached despite this attempt, there is no evidence that the attack suceeded.

Nevertheless, users may wish to change their login passwords as a precaution (it's good practice to change them regularly anyway!)
