Yes, Virgin MOBILE. This was the closest folder to being appropriate I could find.

I'm with Virgin mobile, and It will be my pleasure to give Virgin a ring to tell them I am going to switch networks due to their involvment with Phorm.

I need a good replacement for the UK.

Requirements:

* Parent company not involved in Phorm [READ THE AUP!]

* Good reception in the South East of England as well as the big cities.

* Reasonable text messaging rates (more important than calls)

* Need to be able to roam around Europe

Any suggestions?

Why not give Orange a ring and see how they are getting along with their IP block opt-in idea?

There are dead patches, even on the motor ways - but you won't be talking while driving ...

Vodafone are the best network but nothing has been heard that leaves a positive impression. They are the major supplier to business so may have the same profiler free policy towards business accounts that BT is displaying on the BB side.

Who is tracking your surfing? iCab mobile browser with its privacy controls now available to iPhone and iPod from the App Store - turn images off for faster and beacon free surfing.

I had a few contacts with VM back in March, the last email, March 12th:

"Thanks for your email to Virgin Mobile about tracking the internet usage from your phone.

We've spoken with our Technical Department who have been able to confirm that the records kept on internet usage from your phone will only ever show you have been using the service, either our Bites site or accessing other sites and not what you've specifically viewed.

Currently there are no plans to use a tracking service on Virgin Mobile phones."

I have 4 VM phones for my family which we've had for almost 10 years. The Virgin brand has lost its way. I would also be interested in any recommendations.

I'd suggest Orange for now - the others are competitive, especially O2, but I don't fel they quite offer as good a coverage and Tariffs. Also negotiating with Orange is a little easier than most to get a good deal.

As a footnote, hurry up and join the EU Switzerland - they have an EXCELLENT operator called Suisse Diax - dirt cheap, Reliable, Honest and Fanstastic Phones, even for PAYG Customers.

Virgin Mobile are part of Virgin Media, who are 'partners' with Phorm.

I cancelled my Virgin Mobile account too.

Virgin Mobile/Virgin Media could pass WAP, SMS, and mobile net surfing through Phorm systems.

Mine is also Virgin Mobile, but I'm hanging on to it for a while. It's a PAYG one, so they've already had the money from my £10 May 2006 top up, when I moved home and knew I'd be without a landline for a few days. There's still about £2.50 left, and I'm not going to make them a present of it, I'll wait until I've used it up... somewhere around 2010 at a guess.
