"revert - last edit took out all the neutrally worded and referenced criticism and made phorm out to be awesome and perfect)" http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Phorm&action=history seems to be a very small IP address block... http://samspade.org/whois/217.40.254.161 Asked whois.ripe.net:43 about 217.40.254.161) inetnum: 217.40.254.160 - 217.40.254.167 netname: BTADSL-0000000000005942 descr: BT-ADSL [ Edited Fri Apr 04 2008, 05:56PM ]

Positive and well worded (for the oposition) i thought... Not yer average hack.. [ Edited Mon Apr 07 2008, 01:31PM ]

And done by someone who doesn't quite understand how Wikipedia editing works. I can't see BT wanting to do this - although right now, why would anybody put anything past them? But I know who I think are the most probable culprits....

Fortunately, this was repaired within minutes, but whoever was posting from this address fell far below the standards of ethics expected. Could you please consult your logs, establish who this was, and ensure that a suitable admonishment and warning is delivered? Thanking you in advance

I guess you are probably right, but if you are thinking it might be the phroncommsteam, they've already been pointed to Wikipedia's policy on conflict of interests. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Phorm [ Edited Fri Apr 04 2008, 08:18PM ]

But in view of his edits you have to draw conclusions. It was me who pointed out the conflict of interest - and the WP robots had noticed as well. Maybe doing an anonymous edit gets round the problem of having a give away user name like he did last time, but you would have thought he would have registered with a user name you couldn't draw anything from rather than an IP address which gives the game away... The WP article is now looking quite good, and for one which contains a fair amount of controversial content has survived the usual WP policy censors remarkably well.. I don't want to appear discouraging, but anyone who is into editing Wikipedia might be well advised to prepare for the long haul. Look, for example, at the reference for Villanueva Nunez (with an n-tilde) and compare it with what you find on Wired, for example. He tried to bring Open Source principles into Peru's government in 2002. There isn't even a mention on Wiki of his 'BIll 1609', which, rightly or wrongly, some see as a milestone.
