It's another way to pass your data stream through an SSL encrypted tunnel. http://www.stunnel.org/examples/https_client.html The above technique will beat Phorm snooping, but people will also have to use the remote end DNS trick as well so that the ISP/Phorm cannot see which sites you are going too.
