Just for the record I am SM which El Reg mentions.

I am grateful to them and Chris Williams in particular for taking this up.

"Stephen has already filed a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office and is consulting on how to proceed through the courts with other BT subscribers who believe their connection was subject to illegal Phorm tests."

Will you get legal aid to fight this?

Frank,
As has been suggested on another thread, are you going to report this crime to the police?

I think you should.

Thanks

Yes Frank, please go to the police. BT committed a criminal offence when they included you in secret trials last year and as such should be reported to the police. I have tried to report them already but because I was not a victim of the offence and therefore had no location where the offence was committed, they refused to issue a Crime Reference Number. You were a victim therefore you really do have a responsibility to push for criminal charges.

Home Office and FIPR have made it very clear that interception of communications without consent or a warrant is an unlawful interception; there are no ifs or buts.

You have a duty of care as a citizen of the United Kingdom to report this crime, if you don't then you will merely be contributing to the problem that is our complete erosion of liberty and law for the purpose of corporate control and profits.

Some people may think I am being a bit full on or a bit harsh and they are right; but I am this way for a reason, it is the only way to make people wake up and actually get involved in the solution.

I am very keen to report this to the local constabulary hi-tech crime unit.

There are a few things which need to be confirmed first. This has to be done properly.
