"London's Hottest and Friendliest Kink Night"

From a malfunctioning web server...

http://www.collaredevents.com (WARNING: very NSFW)

The photo tour of CollaredEvents.com, second photo from the err, base of the page. "Yes, the man with his bum facing you is about to receive the spanking of his life".

What Simon Davies does in his free time doesn't bother me a bit. As long as everyone is having fun.

But the lack of essential web security, failure to take sensible personal privacy precautions, and risk that he might be exposed to blackmail is depressing... given he is still 'Director' of 'Privacy International'

How could someone - who is so utterly reckless with their personal privacy - possibly claim to offer expert advice to Governments & businesses around the globe about protecting personal privacy of citizens.

Its so bizarre, I'm almost tempted to wonder if he's been set up, but I doubt it.

I wonder if CollaredEvents.com opted out of Phorm's surveillance, or whether they were content with Simon Davies Privacy Impact Assessment..?

We believe that Phorm should also allow for website owners to opt-out

Why should anyone be forced to opt out of illegal communications surveillance?

Simon Davies, more than anyone - operating a site for a gay BDSM community, should have been able to comprehend that.

I wonder if there's a link between the sites visited/clubs purportedly attended by Gareth Williams (GCHQ murder victim), and Simon Davies 'Collared Events'.

If their paths ever crossed, circumstantially, that would be very bad.

Memo to self:

If feeling peckish on returning from London Metropolitan Archives on a Saturday, when getting off the 63 bus at King's Cross do not walk a bit further up York Way and wander down Wharfdale Street in search of food that is more reasonably priced than the rip-off places in the station.

Less frivolously, though, as you point out, not exactly very clever, liable to result in him being treated as a nutter who can't be taken seriously - unless he's angling for a job in the Diplomatic Service, of course, where I believe that sort of thing is rather popular.

I think Simon wanted somewhere that his Phorm buddy would feel at home - Kent must be used to being strapped for cash by now, even if he has so far avoided getting his collar felt....
