Pipex doesn't give out personal information or e-mail information out to third parties unless explicitly requested for networking purposes and we have no intention of doing so. I hope this helps" Then, to a follow up email asking for clarification: "Thank you for your e-mail. Usage information is never given out to third party companies the only area other than customer care that will get that information is pipex sales team who will look say every three months to see whether it may be worth re-grading to lower your monthly outgoing's. No external (non pipex companies) will have access to any off your information." Still not sure what they mean by "unless explicitly requested for networking purposes" though. Anyway, hope that helps, Kev.

Probably around 20 people/companies signed up (I even go free months for the recommendations). However, as of about 4 months ago, since they were bought out by Tiscali in fact, their service levels and faults have made them useless. They refused to say it was as a result of the take-over but I noticed a lot of their IP addresses are now from elsewhere (presumably being served up by Tiscali). At one stage it was so bad that they insisted my clients re-program their routers to access the BT speed test site, do tests over a 24 hour period then report back!!! You can imagine how this went down with busy companies... On one of these support calls (to Pipex) an agent quietly admitted that customers were leaving in droves as a result of the changes. Best offer yet is 3 months free for the trouble. My client is going to leave at the end of that time. It's really sad that they've gone this way, but that's the Tiscali influence for you - an ISP that would never support Macs but would willingly sell you their services. Tiscali also work on very tight margins, so expect quality to deteriorate. I'd expect them to dive into the trough of Phorm in a hearbeat to make extra money. A big 'NO' to Pipex.

Especially the bit about sharing customer profiles with DoubleClick. I could not find anything which explained how they establish the content of sites visited to add to the customer profile. Maybe just part of the DoubleClick scripts ?? Can any Tiscali / Pipex users confirm and update the thread.
